Hello! My name is Maria Jackson, and I own GRIT to Growth Speech Therapy. I am a speech-language pathologist certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed by the state of California. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fresno, and my Master of Science degree from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
I have over ten years of experience providing speech therapy to individuals of various ages and backgrounds. My experience began as a speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) for a private practice and then a large school district in Stanislaus County. My work experience as a SLPA allowed me to gain skills and learn various effective treatment modalities from many experienced and knowledgeable supervising speech-language pathologists. After obtaining my master’s degree, I worked in public schools, early intervention, and inpatient and outpatient hospital settings.

I decided to open my private practice due to the need for private speech therapy services in our community. My mission is to provide high-quality therapy to the individuals I serve. Establishing a collaborative partnership with parents or caretakers is the key to progress and sustaining treatment results. My goal is to empower parents or caregivers by helping them understand their loved one’s communication disorder and working together to help their loved one reach his or her maximum potential.

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Marcus, for over twenty years, and we have two beautiful young adult daughters. In my free time, I enjoy attending music festivals, traveling, trying new food, and spending time with family and friends.
